About
Gavin grew up in the rural town of Drouin, Victoria where he met his wife Megan. He has been a ministry leader in both voluntary and professional roles since 2001, with a specific focus on kids, youth, and young adult ministries over this time. In response to God’s prompting toward pastoral ministry, he moved to Melbourne to attend both Stirling Theological College and Monash University, where he graduated with degrees in both Theology and Arts, underwent the pastoral formation and ordination process, and susequently completed his Master of Theological Studies, stirring his passion for strategic leadership, culturally relevant teaching, and vocational discipleship.
After two years as Student Pastor at Warragul Church of Christ, he joined the Generational Team at Crossway Baptist Church in 2011, where he spent six years serving as a Youth Pastor, a role that included youth ministry oversight along with an emphasis on creative teaching and holistic spiritual formation. Taking on a Generational Ministry role at Alice Springs Baptist Church in 2017, he is currently navigating the challenge of what it looks like to equip young leaders for reproducible vocational discipleship in a post-Christian culture.
